  • We are the Environment Agency. We work in partnership with government, local councils, businesses, and communities to manage the impacts of climate change, perhaps the most serious longterm threat to the environment, people, and wildlife that we face.

We are looking for highly motivated Flood and Coastal Risk Management (FCRM) Team Members to join the Asset Performance teams in Rye, East Sussex and Leigh, Tonbridge, Kent.


A typical week may involve:

  • Working with team members to manage our databases
  • Providing general support to the team in the delivery of FCRM projects/schemes
  • Processing Flood Risk Activity Permits
  • Regular travel within Kent meeting with partners and undertaking site visits and inspecting assets.
Responding to incidents is a central part of what we do.

You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident.

This may attract an additional payment and full training and alternative working arrangements will be available to support you with your incident role.


  • The team
  • We are responsible for managing flood defence assets. The teams are based at our Rye Office and Leigh Office in Tonbridge, we are currently working flexibly from both the offices and home, though we still carry out regular site visits to our many assets and to our other operational depots.
  • Experience/skills required
  • Focussed on finishing tasks and delivering to deadlines.
  • A confident and clear communicator.
  • A willingness to take ownership of allocated work.
  • Ability to prioritise a busy workload
  • Competent using I.T. with experience of working with the Microsoft Office Suite in particular Outlook, Word and Excel.
