This is an exciting time to join Calderdale Council's Adults and Wellbeing Directorate. An opportunity has arisen for the recruitment of two Community Care Charges Officers.

You will be part of a small, dedicated team, committed to supporting people with the charged aspect of their care provision.

Your communication and personable skills will enable the adults we work alongside to understand the payment functions, whilst providing the reassurance re financial matters.

As part of a growing team, you will help provide vulnerable adults in our community - which includes older people and those with physical or learning disabilities or mental health problems - confidence in money management.

This role will involve management of individual accounts in relation to the Community Care Charging process. You will act on information received regarding service provision and adjust accounts in line with written procedures.

You will be required to investigate discrepancies which impact on the accounts with the aim to ensure an accurate balance and transparent process.

You will need a grade C or above in GCSE English and Maths or equivalent, clear communication and hospitality skills, accurate recording skills and an understanding of the importance of upholding confidentiality.

  • We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff to share this commitment. Applicants to posts that are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act will require a DBS from the Disclosure and Barring Service before the appointment is confirmed._
