£30 an hour, umbrella

Overall Purpose of Job

  • To provide a high quality, customer-focused service dealing efficiently and effectively with all aspects of work related to trees on private land, in conservation areas, and trees protected by tree preservation orders, and provide advice on high hedges and landscape design.
  • To provide specialist advice to planning enforcement officers when unauthorised works have been carried out to protected trees.
  • To prepare and present specialist arboricultural evidence at public inquiries, informal hearings and in court as the Council's expert witness in relation to trees on private property.
Qualifications & Experience

  • Thorough knowledge of all relevant planning legislation, policies and procedures in relation to trees.
  • Thorough knowledge of arboriculture best practice in relation to trees and development.
  • Higher National Certificate/Diploma in Arboriculture or Degree in Arboriculture or Professional Diploma in Arboriculture
