Background:

Over the past 80 years, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) has developed unparalleled expertise in responding to emergencies and helping uprooted communities rebuild.

Founded in 1933 at the request of Albert Einstein, the IRC offers lifesaving care and life-changing assistance to refugees forced to flee from war or disaster.

The IRC is on the ground in more than 40 countries, providing emergency relief, relocating refugees and rebuilding lives in the wake of disaster.

Through 25 offices in cities across the United States, the IRC also helps refugees and other immigrants resettle in the U.S.

and become self-sufficient.

The IRC is committed to bold leadership, innovation in all aspects of our work, creative partnerships and, most crucially, accountability to those we work with and serve.

The Global Advocacy & Influence Department is a dynamic team that uses the power of IRC's ideas to solve the biggest challenges facing IRC's clients.

From the drivers of conflict to the needs displaced people, the team partners with politicians, policy makers and civil society to bring solutions to life.

We take pride in being creative and precise in our tactics, and messages.

We lead change year over year, knowing that system change takes dedicated focus while maintaining the flexibility to respond to emerging needs.

Finally, we collaborate not only with programs, strategy, research and innovation, and communications teams across the IRC, but also externally.

We are constantly seeking new insights and perspectives from others in the humanitarian sector and beyond.
