Are you an experienced QHSE Advisor looking for an exciting new challenge? Would you like the chance to work with a leading haulage firm? If the answer is YES, our client wants to hear from you.
We are a successful fuel tanker haulage company operating throughout the UK with long term contracts with 'blue chip' client base.
Due to continued success and growth, they are now looking to recruit a QHSE Advisor to join the team in Basildon, Essex.
The purpose of this role is to promote a positive health and safety culture across the Company.This is a full-time office-based position working Monday to Friday :00, with opportunities to travel across UK.
What will I be responsible for?
General duties include:
- Guidance and assistance with developing processes, policies and programmes
- Contributing to the ongoing management of ISO 45001, 9001 & 1400
- Be part of the QHSE team to ensure compliance with management systems and policies on H&S, quality and environment
- To manage internal monitoring systems and work with the department to proactively improve safety and efficiencies
- Assist with the upkeep and administration of the site defect reporting system
- Receive and administer the QHSE and near miss observations
- As part of a team you will be responsible for managing all the QHSE databases
- Carrying out detailed risk assessments and regular reviews to consider ways in which risks can be reduced
- Work on the company risk assessments ensuring they are on the correct templates and meet company standards
- Carry out and review COSHH assessments
- Must be able to analyse and interpret data to enable the company to complete reports
- Work as part of a team to ensure the company is kept up to date with latest developments in health and safety legislation
- Assist with the administration of the Annual Internal Audit Plan
- Must be competent to work as part of the internal auditing team, carrying out internal Audits
- Work with the QHSE team on maintaining incident logs and quality system documentation
- Assist with the administration of recording incidents and accidents and producing trend statistics for senior managers

The successful QHSE Advisor will also need the following skills and competencies:
Essential:
- IOSH or other Health & Safety qualification (NEBOSH)
- Safety systems/risk assessment background
- Excellent communications skills required for internal and external staff/customers both written and verbally
- Excellent IT knowledge, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Office
- Team player who is happy working in a team ethos/environment
- A positive can do attitude within a challenging, fast paced industry
Desirables:
- Internal auditing experience

£32,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
