Role overview:

Interview young people facetoface or remotely and undertake appropriate onetoone family work with them
You'll provide a range of services, including onetoone work with young people and family mediation and advice for young people and their parent/guardian
You'll contact family members as appropriate and facilitate initial information sessions with them and provide telephonebased support
You'll identify issues and concerns with individual young people and pass on all relevant information to internal colleagues and external stakeholders
This role will be based within our Young Person service in Cardiff and will play a major role in preventing youth homelessness, helping families identify and resolve issues creating family conflict and ensuring the best possible and most appropriate outcomes for young people in housing need.
You will be working alongside passionate and supportive colleagues in a rewarding environment, where you will be making a huge contribution to creating a Wales without homelessness, every single day.

What do you need to be considered for this role?

Experience of working with vulnerable children, young people, and families at times of stress
Experience in one or more of the following areas: Counselling, Youth Work, Housing, Advice, Social Work, Legal Field, Family Mediation, Family Support Work, Family Group Conferencing
Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation affecting young people including the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act 2014, the Children Act 1989 and awareness of new legislation affecting this client group
