We are looking to recruit Trainee Clinical Coding Officer to join our exciting dynamic and innovative teams at one of our main hospital sites, Colchester or Ipswich.

Clinical Coding is a vital function in ensuring that Trusts accurately report the treatments patients receive, linking to a plethora of local and national comparators including mortality and financial.


Whilst this post starts at band 2, the post holder will progress to band 3 upon successful completion of the NCCSC.

An 18-month competency review should see the post holder attain the relevant competency standards to ensure progression to the post of Band 4 Clinical Coding Officer; Competency levels are set using DS& P toolkit quality assurance levels, through a series of internal audits and checks.


A Clinical Coder who holds the Accredited Clinical Coder status (ACC) by passing the National Clinical Coding Qualification (NCCQ) will progress to Band 5.

**_While working towards passing the NCCQ exam this post is not suitable for home-based working. You will need to be able to work from one of our main sites, Colchester or Ipswich hospitals during standard office hours. Upon successful completion of the NCCQ exam and ACC status is achieved, the flexibility of remote working can be introduced_
