Description

A global insurance business whose reinsurance hub is based in Bermuda is looking for a talented accountant to join the team.

The Senior Technical & Regulatory Accountant will support the Head of Technical Accounting in driving the effectiveness of the functionand to add value to the broader finance team.


Principal accountabilities include:

  • Draft the onboarding of new business proposals and ensure all new business processes are incorporated with the local control environment.
  • Collaborate on and draft all technical accounting development, including the review of technical accounting committee papers.
  • Support the production of the business planning and ongoing monitoring of deliverables.
  • Produce slides for a companywide regular MI pack which supports effective decision making and which is produced efficiently.
  • Drafting of Board & Committee packs on yearend financials and accounting papers.
  • Assist in the preparation of Finance regulatory reports and Government surveys, as and when required (i.e. FCR, BMA Stat, CPIS, AES).
  • Draft the CFO report and commentary.
  • Liaise with external auditors on any accounting changes relating to new business developments and technical accounting matters.
  • Populate/draft any reports required for corporate finance purposes.
  • Provide impactful recommendations and guidance to continually implement updated processes and procedures to develop new efficiencies, while retaining robust controls, leveraging the team and innovative solutions appropriately, including finance automationinitiatives.
This role will be abased in Bermuda and there will be a relocation package available for the successful applicant.
