Grade, Salary Range: UE07, £39,347.00 - £46,974.00

School of Engineering, College of Science & Engineering

Institute/Discipline: Integrated Micro and Nano Systems

Full-time 35 hours per week

Fixed term for up to 5 years

The Opportunity:

This position is associated with the UKRI APRIL AI Hub aiming to create AI tools for faster, cheaper, and more power-efficient electronics by advancing semiconductor technologies and microchip designs.

The post-holder will collaborate with a skilled team to develop AI capabilities for engineering electronic devices, optimize material compositions, and address current challenges in electronics.

Engage with experts in AI and electronics to enhance research relevance and innovation.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • A 1st class undergraduate degree and a PhD in Electronics or AI with a background in Materials Science.
  • Proven research experience in AI, specifically in Materials Discovery.
  • Demonstrated track record of research project delivery in Electron Devices materials and AI.
  • Ability to adapt, embrace new ideas, and work across AI and semiconductor materials.
