Remedy Recruitment Group are currently on the lookout for a Qualified Social Worker for a Mental Health Team Based in South London.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Ability to work under pressure and to cope with crisis.
Ability to understand/communicate with people with acute/complex mental health needs.
Ability to make and sustain relationships with people with mental health needs and their carers.
Ability to negotiate for resources for people under the care of the service.
Ability to assess needs, to design and implement care packages.
Excellent report writing skills.
Ability to organise, prioritise and maintain workload.
Self-motivated.
Commitment to team working in a multi-disciplinary and fully integrated setting.
Car driver essential.
Demonstrate appropriate understanding, knowledge and skills in valuing diversity.

KNOWLEDGE

Broad knowledge of the Mental Health Act.
Broad knowledge of major psychiatric disorders and their effects.
Broad knowledge of local mental health resources in both statutory and voluntary sectors.
Knowledge of NHS and Community Care act and its requirements on the Local Authority
Knowledge of Carers Act and its requirements on the Local Authority.
Knowledge of the role of the Approved Social Worker.

EXPERIENCE

Experience of working with people with complex, acute and/or enduring mental health needs which may be challenging at times.
Experience of working in collaboration with other mental health workers, both in the community and hospital setting.
