Description

Duties and responsibilities Working with the divisions whilst developing their annual audit plans/ programme, checking that compliance priorities/ risk areas have been considered.

Promote and monitor the use of the audit proposal and registration process Maintain the Trusts clinical audit database, ensuring the up-to-date status of audit projects and of resulting action plans.

Monitor clinical audit outcomes and action plans to ensure there is evidence these have been acted upon, and learning has been shared, to enable the audit cycle to be completed and improvements made.

Where gaps are identified, to take timely necessary remedial action and escalation as appropriate.


Maintain up to date and accurate records for quality reporting relating to national audits, national confidential enquiries, service evaluation and survey activity.

Assist in the promotion of clinical audit activity to ensure audit is a clinically-led and owned activity which supports the continual improvement of services and supports the delivery of high standards of care and treatment across the Trust.

Assist in the preparation for and delivery of Trust-wide multi-disciplinary audit / safety meetings Assist in the preparation for and delivery of the Risk Management Group meeting Assist in administering the Trusts policy management arrangements including maintaining the Trusts procedural document register, tracking, arranging for procedural documents to be made available and ensuring they are timetabled for periodic review.

Provide support for regular and ad hoc reports to the Trust Board, Quality & Safety Committee and other Trust committees, managers, clinicians and frontline staff as required.

Facilitate the collection of Trust compliance and clinical effectiveness data from various Divisions for relevant projects.

Administer the relevant compliance and clinical effectiveness database, such as Allocate, ensuring staff are issued with passwords and supported with access.
