We are currently looking for an experienced individual to join our marketing operations team as an Associate Director of Marketing Communications, on an 18-month fixed-term contract.

This individual will be responsible for developing and delivering our marketing communications strategy '" ensuring consistent, relevant, and simplified messaging is shared creatively through Oxford Nanopore channels, in line with the brand and organisation priorities.

This role will work within the marketing operations team to deliver Oxford Nanopore's key messages to target audiences through creative sharing of customer stories via key communication channels.

The job holder will manage teams responsible for Oxford Nanopore's science communications, marketing content, brand teams and social media.

Working closely with key stakeholders across the organisation, they will enhance and deliver authentic stories from the thriving and innovative scientific customer community to broad audiences.

They will ensure that Oxford Nanopore is at the forefront of innovation in marketing, as well as technology.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead social media, science communications, brand and content production teams. Responsible for strategy, overseeing and simplifying deliverables, and effective team development. Build strong relationships with campaigns, segment, product, events, and regional marketing teams to ensure alignment of priorities and consistency in delivery of Oxford Nanopore
- 's tone, brand, and messaging.

  • Manage and deliver an annual programme of video and animation content working with creative agencies. Champion Oxford Nanopore's brand and work closely with digital and marketing team members to ensure consistency across Oxford Nanopore
- 's corporate website and materials.

  • Manage budget for content creation incl. video, animation, marketing content, socialfirst content.
  • Manage and maintain strong relationships with creative agencies, ensuring effective briefs are provided for costeffective project delivery.
  • Work closely with strategic comms team to ensure priorities are aligned and channels are servicing secondary audiences. Ensure that customer success is at the heart of Oxford Nanopore's marketing communications.

What we're looking for.

  • A BSc/MSc in life sciences, or equivalent experience, with further comms/marketing qualifications being a plus. Several years
- ' experience managing a marketing/communications team, with proven success in delivering successful communication programmes or multi-discipline, integrated campaigns.

  • Previous knowledge of genomics would be highly desirable.
  • Experience across social media (paid and organic), media, content creation and online journeys. Creative from an idea
- 's perspective, an excellent writer, with an understanding of the power of storytelling, particularly in science.

  • An eye for design and detail.
  • Highly organised, and able to manage multiple deadlines at once.
  • Adaptable to changing timelines and situations. Dynamic, enthusiastic and a selfstarter who enjoys working in a team environment.
