Working Pattern: 16.25 hours per week (during term-time (14:45 to 18:00) with various shifts between 07:45 to 18:00 during school holidays)

Job Details
Childcare Practitioner (Additional Support Needs) work on a one-to-one basis with children and young people with from 4 to 18 years of age with complex and profound additional support needs.
The role involves planning for and with children and young people based on their needs and interests to provide a wide range of play and social activities.
The role is very varied due to the needs of the children and young people, and you would be required to create a programme of social activities and experiences which meet the individual needs of children and young people.
Due to the needs of the children and young people, enhanced or full care is required such as moving and handling, personal and intimate and the administration of medication.

The Person
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience of working with children and young people within a play, care or learning setting.
- Is willing to work towards the SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) or already holds a suitable qualification.
- Is fun, engaging, adaptable, passionate about working with children and young people.

You are required to register with Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) within 6 months of taking up employment in this role and to complete the required Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL) over the first registration period.
Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland.
