Description

You will provide administrative support to clinical staff within the Pain Management POD, including Consultants, Surgical Care practitioners, and Junior doctors, ensuring effective coordination of their diaries, etc.

This will include the management of waiting lists, overseeing outpatient activity, and ensuring appropriate action with regards to cancellation and re-instating of commitments in line with planned and unplanned leave.


Co-ordinate, monitor and initiate appropriate changes within administrative processes along the patient pathway to ensure the patient's journey is managed efficiently, smoothly and in accordance with targets and agreed timescales.


Manage admitted and non-admitted waiting lists to ensure targets are maintained and patients are booked in accordance with wait times and clinical priority.

Utilise computerised tracking systems to monitor and follow-up investigation results.

Liaise with teams outside of the specialty e.g. GPs where appropriate to ensure seamless patient journey.

Ensure patient information is maintained and updated on the appropriate patient information system.


Monitor patient attendance to appointments and re-arrange/book further appointments as required and manage the booking of patient admissions and pre-assessment appointments.
