Teaching Assistant


Location:
Salisbury


Start date:
ASAP (to continue into September)


Hours:
Monday - Thursday 9.30am - 3pm

We are working with an alternative provision in Salisbury who support students unable to access mainstream education. They are dedicated to providing exceptional education and support to students with SEN.

We are looking for someone who can help create an inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive and reach their full potential.


Responsibilities:


  • Assist the classroom teacher in implementing individualised education plans and adapting teaching materials to meet the specific needs of students.
  • Support students during classroom activities, ensuring their participation and engagement in the learning process.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe, valued, and supported.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and medical staff, to provide comprehensive care and support to students.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to the teacher and contributing to the assessment process.

Experience:


  • Previous experience supporting students with ASD or behavioural needs.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, parents, and other staff members.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with young people.
