Due to increased offshore activity, NOV ReedHycalog are recruiting a Workshop Assistant to support the servicing of downhole tools in the Badentoy workshop.

The role involves assisting in the service processes, general workshop duties and housekeeping of the workshop and yard with all tasks and operation of equipment to be done in accordance with NOV safety policies.

This role is an integral part of a small team to ensure the timely and efficient load out of tools to support our customer needs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform general workshop duties including washing, cleaning, preparing of tools for NDT Inspection and painting of tools to prepare for dispatch
  • Extensive safe and efficient use of all workshop and lifting equipment following all applicable risk assessments and JSA's
  • Assist Service Technicians where required during tool service process
  • Assist with goods inout to load/unload trucks and completion of relevant incoming documentation
  • Responsible for maintaining a high standard of housekeeping and participating in preventive maintenance system to ensure workshop equipment checks are completed
  • Adhere to all DH HSEQ Policies and procedures and ensure PPE guidelines are followed
  • Participate in product and HSE training as required and have an active role in the NOV Competency System
  • Participate in NOV Observation Reporting System to identify potential hazards within the workplace
  • Participate in 5S implementation and maintenance within the facility and ensure 5S principles are followed and adhered to
  • Assist in maintaining Waste Management programme and general cleaning and tidying of the workshop and yard areas

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Technical education

EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience of workshop environment (desirable)
  • Lifting equipment (forklift and crane) experience and certification (desirable)

SKILLS, TRAINING, SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE:

  • Computer literacy (including good command of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Outlook) (essential)
  • Strong sense of customer focus and ability to work in a small team to deliver a quality, safe and on time service (essential)
  • Working knowledge of the offshore drilling environment (desirable)
  • The position would suit hard working selfmotivated mechanically minded individual with prior experience
