Title and SummarySenior Platform Engineer-2
Overview
As a Platform Engineer you would be focused on build, implementation and support of Mastercard ONE (RTP & Applications) platforms (UNIX, Linux, Redhat, OEL, Solaris, AIX, VMware).
The role also requires thought leadership and an ability to drive IT initiatives that continually improve our efficiency, agility, performance, availability and operational excellence.
Responsibilities:
- Develops, builds, and maintains Mastercard technologies and associated software and hardware
- Resolves problems of diverse scopes as they arise, escalating complex issues where analysis of the situation requires indepth evaluation and judgement
- Performs implementations to optimize system/platform performance, efficiency, and capacity; may guide others on implementation and troubleshooting activities
- Supports holistic compliance posture which includes identifying risks, escalating potential concerns, and implementing both risk mitigation plans and control functions
- Drafts and reviews status reports and troubleshooting guides, carrying out project plans to ensure project milestones are met and progress is successfully communicated
- Develops service improvement plans to improve endtoend experience and delivery to facilitate optimal performance within area of expertise
- May manage smallsized global initiatives and independently contributes to systemlevel programs and drive process improvement and deliver
- Mentors and coaches staff by providing training to develop technical skills and capabilities across the organization
- Experience managing components of larger projects for a technology initiative within own domain
- Experience maintaining relationships with internal partners and providing guidance on moderate to complex operational and engineering activities
- Experience managing process improvement efforts including automation and/or cloud delivery
- Active participant in global technical communities of practice (e.g., Tech Leadership Network)
- Experience acting as the initiator of procurement of technologies and gathering requirements and preliminary information to find best fit
- Experience leveraging ITSM processes and best practices
