1.
Job Purpose


The processing of orders from receipt to the delivery stage and to ensure all requirements can be fulfilled to meet the agreed delivery dates.

2.
Duties and Responsibilities - Production Planner

  • To process all customer orders.
  • To create and issue works orders including any information which will impact the manufacturing of the product.
  • Plan customer orders and incorporate them into the current, forward load production plan which in turn will achieve the requested delivery date for the customer.
  • To raise purchase orders for materials when required.
  • To advise/help customers with delivery dates to ensure the delivery date is achievable and realistic for both the customer and the transport department.
  • To liaise with other departments such as Transport or Operations when required.

Qualifications/Knowledge/Skills/Experience

  • Having an understanding of how to use Excel is advantageous.
  • Full training on the systems Ariel Plastics use will be given.

  • Inform Ariel Plastics of any work situation which may represent a serious and immediate danger to Health & Safety.
  • Inform Ariel Plastics of any short comings in the protection arrangements for Health & Safety.
  • Ensure that all safety equipment is used and maintained in the correct way and any issues reported to the Technical & Quality Manager.

Discipline

  • Ensure that you are aware of and comply with all Company regulations, as contained in the Employee Handbook, Work Instructions and other control documentation.
  • Maintain acceptable standards of behaviour, attendance, timekeeping, etc., as detailed in the Employee Handbook and other control documentation.

Communications

  • Ensure that communications are maintained at the highest possible level, keeping the management team informed of impending situations which could develop into more serious problems.
  • Comply with the Company's Team Briefing process.
7.


General

  • Ensure compliance with the company's Equal Opportunity Policy.
  • Any other duties as may reasonably be required in line with your training and experience.


Please note that this list is not exhaustive and you may be required by your Line Manager to take on additional responsibilities/ad hoc duties as and when required.


Salary:
Up to £10.42 per hour


Schedule:

  • 8 hour shift
  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Ormskirk: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

Production Scheduling: 1 year (preferred)
