Description

Supervision of all aspects of Operations to ensure control of all aspects of the Warehouse Site Operations, to include receipt of parcels into the warehouse and dispatch of Linehaul vehicles.


  • Ensure that all aspects of the warehouse operation are conducted in a timely manner, in accordance with the requirements of the business, to include:
unloading vehicles, scanning and sorting freight by agreed and stipulated deadlines

Loading of vehicles following the agreed 'loading plan'

  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained in good working order and repairs and checks are conducted at regular intervals as required. Ensure defect reports are completed in accordance with company policy.

Equipment to include:
Weight scales, scanners, fork lift trucks, electric pallet trucks, hand pallet trucks, conveyors, cages etc.

  • Ensure that appropriate equipment is made available to the operation as required.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the operation meet the company standards. Where shortfalls are identified plan and track remedial action.
  • Ensure that at KPI's are achieved in line with requirements
  • Support Site Management in arranging/conducting training as required.
  • Ensure warehouse operation is compliant with issuing and wearing of company PPE
  • Ensure compliance in all aspects of Health and Safety, to include issue of SOMS and conducting Risk Assessments.
  • Review Scanning performance on a regular basis
  • Ensure that all people management matters are conducted in accordance with Company Policies.
  • Ensure that the company Induction is correctly followed during the initial three months of employment.
  • Hold regular communications meetings with reporting team.
  • Establish regular 'hand over' meetings
  • Hold annual review meetings, in accordance with Company requirements.
  • Deal with concerns or issues arising from the Annual appraisal interview.
  • Regularly review compliance with company practices and procedures were shortfalls are identified take remedial action.
  • As required produce reports as agreed/requested
  • Overview of the check weight operation.
  • Involve and support in setting objectives for the shift and encourage involvement and team development.
  • Establish training requirements for the team and arrange training as appropriate.
  • Ensure staffing levels meet the needs of the operation.
  • Deal with Agency personnel in accordance with Company requirements and the Agency Workers Directive [AWD]
  • Carry out any additional job duties as requested.
Ensure that all Health and Safety policies and procedures are complied with within own area of control (as stated in the employee handbook/displayed at the location) in line with Location Site Risk Assessments
