A fantastic opportunity has arisen to work as a Hairdressing Apprentice for Take 2 Hair and Beauty in Newport.

Do you have a passion for hair and are you looking for a career in hairdressing?


Take 2 are looking for the next ambitious Hairdressing apprentice to join their small, friendly team whilst working towards an Apprenticeship in Hair.

Take 2 has been open since 1987 under the principal direction of Sue McLaughlin.

The business is passionate about training and continuing their education. The team works hard to inspire their clients and to make everyone look and feel great. Using and selling Aveda helps to complement their work and believe in the Aveda mission.


Key Tasks & Responsibilities:


  • All aspects of shampooing, cutting, colouring and styling under supervision and training.

Apprenticeship Standard:

  • Level 2 Hair Professional Apprenticeship Standard.
  • 24month Apprenticeship.
  • Functional Skills in Maths and English if required and if not previously achieved GCSE grade 4 or C or above.
  • There is a requirement to complete off the job training of 6 hours per week during working hours, time spent either learning something new, other courses or any support work that is not in your usual role will also be counted.
  • Attendance at college as required for classroom learning.

Essential qualities:

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Team working skills.
  • Ability to receive instructions.
  • Ability to manage time and workload.
Working Week

  • Up to 40 hours per week including Saturdays.
Wage

  • National Apprenticeship Minimum Wage.

Additional information below:
The minimum age to become an apprentice is 16.


Once qualified and dependant on needs of the business at the time of apprenticeship completion, there may be the potential for a permanent position.
