CHAPELTOWN CITIZENS ADVICE

Based in an inner city multi-racial area of Leeds, Chapeltown Citizens Advice is an independent charity with 14 paid staff and 35 volunteers that provides a comprehensive advice service from its main office and outreaches.

Delivery is currently restricted to telephone and video conferencing due to the pandemic and you will be required to work from home on some days each week

The role

This position will present the successful applicant with an exciting opportunity to maintain and develop a quality generalist advice service tailored to meet the specific needs of people with Learning Difficulties/Disabilities across the City.

You will provide advice to people with Learning Difficulties/Disabilities and their Carers.

Main enquiry areas will be (although not exclusively):
benefit, debt, housing, employment, immigration, education, community care, health, family, discrimination, education, tax and legal procedures.

We are looking for an adviser with an excellent knowledge of the welfare benefits system as well as a good generalist knowledge of debt, housing and employment.

We also require that you have a commitment to the aims and principles of the Citizens Advice Service and that you ensure the work reflects and supports the Citizens Advice service's equality and diversity strategy.

You will work from home, Chapeltown Citizens Advice and outreach venues, contributing to both this project and our wider service ambition.
