  • We have a vacancy for an organised and selfmotivated person to join the North East area in the role of Area Income Advisor. This role has a wide remit of responsibilities focussed on internal engagement and communication as well as data analysis and reporting and would suit a selfstarter with a proven ability to build positive working relationships across a broad and dispersed network of stakeholders. The ability to prioritise a variety of tasks effectively to ensure deadlines and key goals are met will be essential.

You will:
Provide assurance and reporting to the Area senior leadership team on our income and debt recovery performance. The ability to analyse data, record and report is an essential part of this role.
Act as lead for the area on co-ordination and planning of debt recovery activities through use of your influencing skills

  • Support roll out and implementation of new cost recovery initiatives by acting as a single point of contact in area, engaging with relevant stakeholders and coordinating training activities and tracking performance.
Show awareness of business changes and developments related to our income recovery and debt working practices.
Be purposefully involved with the Income Advisor network and build able links to our National Income Service team.

Lead for the business office on internal engagement activities including distribution of key local messages, promotion of area activities and events and maintenance of our team sharepoint pages.

Bolster the business office team's resilience to ensure delivery of key activities across all roles is maintained.

  • The team
  • Based in our Business Team, your work will require interaction with teams across the Area and nationally, from regulated industry, national income service and with external customers/stakeholders.

You will also be part of a national network of income advisors to identify funding opportunities, good practice and share learning.

You will work closely with the area's two Executive Coordination Managers, Business Support Officer and Area Director's PA supporting the Area Director and senior leadership team.


  • Experience/skills required
  • The business office team is primarily based in Newcastle however we function on a blended basis of office and home based working with very occasional travel required in order to meet up with your national counterparts.
Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be complimented by your attention to detail and enthusiasm to achieve results.
Through your experience to date you will be able to demonstrate some of the following:

  • The ability to work collaboratively with Team Leaders and Managers.
  • The ability to articulate solutions to problems in a simple, engaging way.
  • Good judgment, problem solving and decisionmaking skills.
  • Good planning skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and deliver to tight timescales
  • The ability to analyse data, provide reporting and recommend appropriate actions

You will be required to have an incident role and make yourself available to respond to incidents or provide business continuity support during an incident.
