We're currently partnering with a fast growing, Employee Owned Property Management group who are on the hunt for a new Head of Finance.

Currently on a trajectory of growth, now would be a great time to join the group and share in their success.

Reporting into the Managing Director and managing a team, the Head of Finance will provide the business with a professional and complete financial management and accounting service.

Ensuring controls are in place and followed to provide this service in linewith company procedures and current legislation.

This role will involve working closely with the MD and working collaboratively with members of the Senior Management Team to support the growth and expansion of the business.


The Key tasks for the role will be:

  • To manage and oversee the production of the monthly management accounts and annual budgeting/forecast process working with budget-holders to ensure financial resources are used/managed effectively identifying and explaining any significant trends or variances.
  • Oversee the strategic planning, procurement, implementation, security, protocols, and management of Information Technology solutions in use by Group.
  • Be an integral member of the Senior Leadership Team, positively influencing and working with the Board and other senior leaders to support effective leadership.
  • Act as a strategic financial adviser to the Senior Leadership Team and Board, providing sound advice, guidance and information on organisational performance, risks and opportunities
  • Team management, monitoring their work, setting targets and carrying out regular supervisions, appraisals and reviews of their competency framework.
  • Lead on the preparation of the financial statements and information required for a yearly audits.
  • Monitor and review the effectiveness of financial controls to ensure that they remain appropriate at all times.
  • To lead on and ensure that accurate, timely data and sufficient controls are in place to minimise risk of fraud or misstatement, and allow the business to make Value for Money decisions.
  • Lead on the administration of payroll system
  • Leading on ensuring property valuations are carried out where necessary.
  • Leading on monitoring current and future financial position to ensure compliance with the loan covenants.
  • Managing the preparation of all statutory and regulatory returns before submission to the relevant authority including, but not limited to, VAT return, CT return, loan covenants,
  • Working with tax advisors and any other necessary colleagues to ensure Group is compliant with all relevant taxes.
  • Maintain strong working relationships with bankers, auditors and local authority customers.
  • Prepare necessary financial reports for weekly, monthly and quarterly Senior Leadership Team and Board meetings.
Key Requirements

  • A fully qualified accountant ( ACA / ACCA/ CIMA)
  • Financial and team management experience
  • Strong communication and business partnering skills
