Description
A Research Associate position is available for an outstanding and ambitious biomedical engineer to undertake research in the field of bioengineering research.
In particular the researcher will be an important addition to Professor Cartmell's research group by assisting with the leadership of Professor Cartmell's research group and furthering research in the area of mammalian cell culture bioreactor design for 3D tissue engineering and toxicology / early cancer biomarker detection.
You should have, or be working towards, a PhD or equivalent in biomaterials, biomedical engineering or similar.Expertise in 3D printing / additive manufacture, bioreactor design, CAD, computational modelling, tissue engineering, biocompatibility testing and mechanical testing techniques are essential.
You should be capable of working under your own initiative and assisting in leading a small research team, so excellent communication and organisational skills are also required.
The appointed research associate will also be supporting Professor Cartmell by grant writing, manuscript journal submission and assisting with supervising MSc and undergraduate student projects.
