National Sales Director, Shingles:


Job purpose:

This is an exciting opportunity to join GSK as a National Sales Director.

You will strategically lead a team of about 6 Field Sales Managers & 60 field-based sales representatives and ensure consistent key performance indicators and Shingles NIP uptake targets are achieved in line with GSK's objectives and strategies.

You will use your management experience to develop and motivate a high performing sales organization.

The team will initially be focused on the Shingles Vaccination Program but may move into other vaccination that offers protection against other infectious diseases as the GSK portfolio develops.


Your responsibilities:


  • Leading, motivating and developing the FLSM team in order to deliver performance targets.
  • To work closely with the Shingles head office cross functional Team to implement the business plan and drive agile opportunities for increasing uptake.
  • To support evolution of the business strategy as part of the BU Lead Team.
  • Communicate the strategy and objectives to sales team and work via FLSMs to translate it into local implementation plans to achieve the desired targets.
  • Ensure successful performance of the sales team, striving to exceed targets.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement and development of the national teams selling skills and product knowledge.
  • Designing & implementing the incentive program to motivate the sales team to achieve goals.
  • Identifying and implementing business growth opportunities, to drive NIP uptake.
  • Motivates and inspires their team by keeping them connected with the broader organization, celebrating success, ensuring that top performers feel recognized and valued, underperformance is being managed and removing/reducing barriers and issues that impact belief and motivation.
  • Ensures good governance across their teams in alignment with relevant codes and policies.
  • Manages talent and succession planning via differentiated development planning.
  • Drives operational excellence, including the delivery of key input metrics (KPI's) and responsible for ensuring discipline in implementation to enable commercial success.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Degree Qualified or the equivalent based on industry experience
  • Demonstrated sales organization success
  • Good understanding of NHS structure, policies, drivers and their local health economy
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, complex environment.
  • Demonstrated ability of interfacing with senior customers, internally and externally
  • Second Line Sales Leadership Experience

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Vaccines experience
  • Ability to define and shape best practice through looking both internally and externally to GSK and responding appropriately
  • Good understanding of account management principles and philosophies.
