UHBW are recruiting to a training post for a Band 3 Senior Assistant Healthcare Scientist to train and move to the Associate post 1 year after completing the initial year on the Audiology Foundation Degree.
This post will begin as a Band 3 AHCS and trainee will progress after 1 year once met the probation period to a Band 4.
The post-holder will work under the supervision of the PTP training lead; will contribute to the provision of a comprehensive assessment, diagnostic and rehabilitation service for patients referred to the Audiology Department.
The post holder will deliver a defined range of activities, which will include an element of problem solving and use of initiative.
Whilst attending a Hearing Aid Dispenser Foundation Degree. A suitably qualified Audiologist will retain overall responsibility for the caseload and will provide regular clinical supervision.Carry out reviews and repairs of hearing aid systems at repair/follow-up clinics.
This would include otoscopic examination of the ears, hearing screening, impression taking, repair/reprogramming of NHS analogue and digital hearing aids, following procedures defined by local protocol with reference to a suitably qualified audiologist if indicated.
