Owing to their continued success in tenders and frameworks, Contract Scotland have an opportunity to join a well-respected civil engineering contractor as the Head of Repair and Maintenance working on the Scottish Water Framework.


Our client is a family owned business who have an established and demonstratable background in delivering works to a high standard and their continued level of service to the wider construction industry has seen them go from strength to strength.

Operating primarily as a main contractor specialising in utilities, the business still has a "family feel" to it and holds the values and principles of a traditional organisation.

Recently they have been successful in new frameworks and as such are looking to expand their team.

As the Head of Repair and Maintenance you will work alongside an experienced team working on the Scottish Water framework, challenge their existing working practices and develop and drive transformational change.


As a Head of Repair and Maintenance you will be responsible for:

Develop an aligned performance culture; managing all contract procedures enabling us to improve profitability and drive to outperform in the achievement of our strategic objectives.


  • Deliver and implement first time fix strategy and first time reinstatement strategy
  • Lead and manage senior operational teams on their performance management to ensure efficient delivery.
  • Prepare weekly cost and value presentations.
  • Develop innovative strategies to ensure commercial and operational efficiency.
  • Deliver and maintain a safe culture of accountability and ownership.
  • Drive a collaborative approach to service excellence.
  • Sole responsibility for Profit and Loss of repair and maintenance performance.
  • Prepare weekly cost and value presentations.

Applicants must management experience and a proven track record of team development is essential. It is import that you are resourceful and are able to work under pressure.


You should have the following:


  • Due to the nature of the project, previous experience working on the Scottish Water frameworks is essential.
  • Experience of building and maintaining good working relationships.
  • Be able to prioritise work whilst having excellent persuasive skills.
  • Be an excellent communicator and deliver key messages when required.
  • Full UK drivers license.
