Job description:
Our Room Leaders lead a team of Early Years professionals to create and plan daily routines and activities to engage and stimulate our children.
They confidently manage the day-to-day running of the room, while encouraging their team, motivating learning and positively managing every child's well-being.
As a LEYF Room Leader, you will work closely with the management team to ensure that best practice is maintained and delivered throughout the nursery, ensuring we provide the best experience for our children and their families.
Room Leaders have relevant qualifications at Level 3 or above, combined with leadership and team management skills, knowledge of legislation relating to Early Years and the ability to build strong and supportive relationships within a team.
Job requirements:
Essential:
- Right to work in the UK
- Full and relevant Level 3 or above qualification in Early Years
- Minimum of 12 months experience working in an Early Years setting
- Comprehensive knowledge of child protection and safeguarding and the ability to take the lead in vulnerable situations when required
- Excellent communication skills to enable clear articulation of your ideas and ensure successful planning and delivery by the nursery team
- Continually strive for best practice in yourself while inspiring others
- A childcentred approach to teaching using creative and exciting methods to engage and stimulate
- Understand and value holistic methods of teaching and champion heuristic problemsolving in our children
Desired:
- Experience in distributing staff and resources effectively, maintaining ratios whilst supporting other rooms
- Ability to build strong nurturing relationships with the nursery team and stakeholders
- Experience working in an early year's setting
- Communicate our unique pedagogy to parents and guardians and engage them in expanding their child's learning beyond the nursery
- Strong desire to influence positive change when required through modelling the LEYF values; Brave, Fun, Inspiring and Nurturing
About the nursery:
Rated Outstanding by Ofsted, Colville Nursery and Pre-School provides Early Years education and care to children from birth to 5 years old.
Our children have many activities to choose from, including science experiments, yoga, dialogic reading, woodwork, cooking and more. They also love to explore outdoors and go shopping at Portobello Market or spotting wildlife at nearby Holland Park.
