What you'll do:


The Rehire Planner will report to the Rehire Planning Team Leader and be responsible for day-to-day planning requirements within the rehire team, sourcing equipment for specific customer/depot requests.

They will work closely with the other planners and Buyer to provide support where necessary.


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Once rehire requirements have been identified, source and select the most appropriate supplier/equipment that fulfils the needs of the customer.
  • Negotiation with suppliers to ensure optimum pricing obtained for given specification of equipment.
  • Working with other schedulers (fleet/labour/fuel/transport) and customer service reps to ensure all activities are coordinated together and provide the customer with optimized activity coordination
  • Quality and timely communication with Customer Service Reps to ensure they are kept informed of delivery / collection times and any changes or issues.
  • Responsible for the communication of any relevant sales instructions into preparation activities, including the communication of technical needs to technicians for job preparation.
  • To maintain the Supplier Directory and ensure contacts are all up to date.
  • Responsible for obtaining certification from suppliers pre and post hire. E.g predelivery inspection certification, RAMS etc
  • Deliver a professional, value add service which removes inefficiency and drives continuous improvement
  • To ensure Procurement is conducted in a sustainable and ethical manner consistent with the companies' values, principles and policies
  • Respond to multiple requests with short lead times to ensure customers expectations are met.
  • Building and maintaining excellent relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Support Strategic Buyer in resolving invoice queries
  • Changing the personality of the business from reactive to proactive to allow time to drive commercial improvements
  • Supporting a culture of Continuous Improvement within the team
  • Working to strict deadlines and managing multiple tasks
Who we're looking for


You will have strong Administrative and IT skills including all Microsoft Platforms with background experience of working within a fast-paced environment.

You will have good organisational skills whilst also being able to work under pressure to deliver tasks on time, and to a high level of quality and accuracy, with strong attention to detail.
