The role will support internal JLR transformation communications on behalf of and within the Digital chapter.

Working closely with the Digital leadership team, the role will support the delivery of timely, precise and engaging change communications at a chapter and programme level.

The role will involve sourcing and creating a consistent flow of compelling content from across the Digital team to bring the broad range of transformation and digital activity to life for internal audiences.

It will also involve business critical stakeholder engagement, working with colleagues at all levels across the business to agree activity and create consistent and clear messaging.

As well as communications within the Digital chapter, the role will be responsible for owning digital communications content relevant to the wider business (e.g. drawing attention to key digital events, topics and announcements).

In real terms this means providing the digital team with guidance on best communications practice, and where necessary creating plans and content that support digital business objectives.


Alongside the role as lead for Digital chapter internal communications, you will also support the wider Internal Communications team with broader business-level transformation news, campaigns and internal communications activities, as a compelling storyteller and content creator.


WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Support the Head of Strategic Portfolio & People Management within the Digital Transformation Office with communications and employee engagement within the Digital functional.
  • Support the Global Internal Communications Manager in the development and delivery of corporate transformation and enterprisewide Digital internal communications.
  • Advise and where needed lead on topical digital communications to the wider business
  • Source and deliver engaging stories, written and digital assets for internal communications channels relating to priority Digital and change initiatives at a programme and functional level.
  • Elevate the wealth of stories and promote key achievements/milestones from within the Digital programme aligned to the company's Reimagine strategy.
  • Act as a corporate affairs gatekeeper to ensure consistent and precise messaging across all transformation communications aligned to Digital.
  • Stakeholder management, influencing and networking across the business, building key relationships with the Digital team and attending meetings as required.
  • Work closely with other JLR functions and comms leads as required to help deliver communication objectives and outcomes.
  • Prepare reports, presentations and management information for the leadership team and other stakeholders, using data and metrics to report and provide feedback/ improvement recommendations on engagement good practice.
  • Develop opportunities to enhance and improve existing communications channels.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Essential:

  • 5+ years communications experience
  • Ability to identify good stories from across the business
  • Excellent communication skills both spoken and written
  • Must be able to produce communications which are relevant and easytodigest for all levels
  • Experience of the production and management of content and/or events, including photo/film shoots/briefs/storyboards as required
  • Experience in change management communications
  • Commercially astute used to working in a business environment
  • Able to negotiate and influence across the organisation
  • Knowledge of key communications and engagement practices both tactical and strategic
  • Experienced in events management
  • Strong ability to organise self, operate independently with mínimal direction as well as in a team and prioritise workload in order to meet tight deadlines
  • A good level of IT competence is required in programmes such as Excel, Word and Power Point

Desirable:

  • Experience of external corporate media relations issues and crisis handling
  • Working in standalone communications role with large organisation and/or a diverse customer group
  • Managing sensitive communications issues
  • Automotive, global, and/or matrix business environment experience
