Role Purpose


This is an opportunity to join NRW's Energy Delivery Team and make a positive contribution towards the climate and nature emergency whilst serving the communities of Wales.


In this role you will offer a high level of secretarial and business support to project teams facilitating, the development and construction of high-profile renewable energy (and other commercial) projects on the Welsh Government Woodland Estate.

You willalso undertake team and programme tasks to ensure efficiency, consistency, and good governance across the Energy Delivery and wider Commercial Development Teams.

Working knowledge and experience of using Microsoft Office Tools (particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint and teams) is essential.

Experience of using Microsoft Project, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), and interactive data visualization software wouldbe advantageous (there will be the opportunity to develop these skills).

The team employ Project Management tools such as risk registers, lessons learnt, decision logs etc to ensure consistency and transparency in decision making and effective risk management.

A basic understanding or experience of supporting a project manager would be advantageous.


The role is predominantly desk based with a requirement for occasional travel to other NRW locations throughout Wales with prior arrangement.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Possess good literacy, numeracy, and IT skills (Microsoft Office).
  • Experienced in office administration.
  • Numeracy skills and ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
  • Organised and adaptable and able to respond to changing demands on workload.
  • Experienced in information management and Project Management systems.
  • Able to interpret contracts.
  • Effective at developing good stakeholder relations internally and externally.
  • Willingness to attend site meetings and record site observations and provide cover for team members across Wales as required.
