1 Year Fixed Term based at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
The primary aim of the role is to support the ICHNT multi-professional simulation programme and improve patient care, outcomes and safety using education and training interventions that best meet the needs of teams and Trust patients.
The post holder will support specific simulation educational activities and events.
Principally this applies to supporting the delivery of the junior doctor programme commissioned by HEE (Health Education England), in accordance with the foundation programme and IMT curricula.
There is already a senior SIM fellow in post to provide support and mentorship on daily programmed activities.
This post is an excellent opportunity for a junior doctor who is interested in developing their educational portfolio, will significantly develop their management skills as well as an understanding of the operational management of simulation in medical education with respect to a large, complex Trust.
This post will allow the postholder to develop skills in project design, management, leadership, programme delivery, support of teaching programmes as well as project assessment and analysis.

Experience
Essential
Full GMC registration
Collegiate examinations complete to ST3+ level for doctors
For nurses and AHPs a specialty-based position.
Desirable
ALS/ILS in date
Evidence of attending a simulation 'Train the Trainers' program
Previous experience in Simulation
PG Cert or Diploma in Education
Skills, Experience & Knowledge
Essential
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in partnership with others across the range of professions and levels of seniority
Able to work independently and within a formal team structure
Competence in independent management of medical emergencies up to the level of an ST3 or equivalent
Able to manage simultaneous workstreams and deliver to deadlines
Strong interest in inclusivity and multidisciplinary education
Understanding of project management principles
Desirable
Previous experience of delivering simulation sessions and in debriefing
Self-motivating with a flexible approach to work and ability to work independently
Experience of developing and delivering clinical teaching programmes
Knowledge of training programme evaluation methodology
Awareness of current educational initiatives with regard to: patient safety, quality improvement, human error, risk management, crisis resource management and cross-specialty training
