TYNE & WEAR (Ref 558), 14 months, possibly permanent £31,700 and half day Friday


With HQ in the North East, our client has acquired a number of businesses across the UK and is a very successful and respected business.

There is a varied HR agenda which includes creating one culture, ensuring all of the new businesses are integrated froman HR perspective, following the same procedures and transitioning to a more corporate style.


Reporting to the UK HR Manager(who's great), the HR team are a friendly bunch with another HR Advisor based in the south.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be involved in every element of HR and to continue your learning.


Acting as the first point of contact for Line Managers and Supervisors who need advice on how to manage people elements, such as managing difficult conversations and supporting employees through a variety of different challenges.


  • Work with Line Managers to proactively manage employee issues, such as investigations, disciplinaries & grievances, poor performance, absence management etc.
  • Provide advice and guidance on all HR policies and procedures, employment issues and legislation
  • Ensure managers are engaged with the development of their people by way of probationary reviews, objective settings and personal development
  • Assisting with recruitment activities such as compiling job descriptions, contracts and offers
  • Coordinating and assisting with the induction process for new starters
  • Coordinating and leading training activities for coaching line manager on HR policy & procedures
  • Payroll processing you can be taught this
  • Support the UK HR Manager to continually look for opportunities for improvement
  • Updating and maintaining records as required
  • Assist with note taking where applicable
  • Support HR Administrator with general HR queries
  • Support with HR projects as and when required

Requirements:


  • CIPD qualified or working towards
  • A high level of confidentiality
  • Willing to travel about every 6 weeks with an overnight stay
  • HR generalist experience of at least 2 years
  • Good planning, organisational skills, and attention to detail
  • Strength in character and able to manage challenging situations
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in written and verbal skills and using tact and diplomacy
  • Selfmotivated and driven
  • Flexible approach
