TRC are working on behalf of one of their oldest clients in finding a great Hospital Director for a small service in South London (Croydon).

The role has come up due to retirement.

The hospital has maintained a good CQC for many years and are looking forsomeone to maintain the reputation or even better, reach outstanding.


The Hospital Director is the most Senior Managerial role in the hospital reports to the Group Operations Director and is accountable to the directors and the board.

The Role:


  • Manage the financial business of the hospital, ensuring effective financial management and business planning
  • Demonstrate you maintain clinical expertise through engaging in clinical work for an agreed period each month
  • Maintain own professional and personal development
  • Ensure all staff have relevant individual personal development plans are in place for all clinical and managerial staff and that they are reviewed and updated routinely
  • Ensure all staff meet the statutory and mandatory training requirements
  • Development and direction of an effective management team to delivery all targets
  • Develop and deliver a robust and evidence based, target driven clinical strategy
  • Provide leadership to the Senior Management Team, ensuring efficient and effective work patterns and performance
  • Ensure effective Governance processes are in place including, clinical governance, health and safety, risk management and risk registers, marketing, financial management and personnel management
  • Ensure effective systems and processes are in place for all financial matters
  • Where appropriate and necessary, liaise with and provide necessary information to relevant legal services
  • Provide relevant reports and formal updates to Directors in a timely manner
  • Draw matters of performance and financial concern to the attention of the Operations Director in a timely manner
  • Ensure effective and robust audit trails are in place for all SUI's and complaints to comply with the requirements of 'Duty of Candour'
  • Demonstrate effective and efficient business outcomes for the hospital with annual profitability
  • Direct senior staffs to ensure HR policies and procedures are effective in place and reviewed regularly
