Do you want to make a difference by improving school attendance and punctuality and helping us meet our attendance targets?

Could you help promote positive attitudes of students and their families towards education and ensure parents are made fully aware of their statutory responsibilities, particularly where there is persistent absence? Are you confident in attending meetings both at school and off site? If so, this could be the position for you

The post is for 37 hours a week, working 8am - 4pm with a 30 minute lunch break. You will work Monday to Friday for 39 weeks a year ( term time plus staff training days).

Due to the closing date being within the Easter holidays, interviews will be held on Friday21st April 2023.

Main Responsibilities

The purpose of the role is:

  • To provide a specialist service to help the school to raise achievement by improving school attendance and punctuality and to meet our attendance targets.
  • To promote positive attitudes of students and their families towards education and ensuring that parents are made fully aware of their statutory responsibilities, particularly where there is persistent absence.
  • To make unsupervised home visits and attends meeting both at school and off site.

Essential knowledge and skills include:

  • Knowledge of commonly used computer software packages and the ability to analyse statistical data
  • A good understanding of issues affecting truancy, lateness and school absence.
  • A clear understanding of the statutory framework for school attendance
  • A good standard of education and relevant qualifications.
  • A willingness to undertake relevant training and keep knowledge up to date
