The faculty is home to two University Centres of Research and Knowledge Exchange (UCRKEs): Health, Psychology and Communities; and Education and Social Research Institute.


About the Role:


Working with the Faculty RKE Manager and the wider RKE Team, you will proactively support the delivery of the faculty's established partnership with Nuffield Health, and other RKE projects, in alignment with the University's RKE Strategy and UCRKE plans.

You will be a main contact for queries and requests relating to the co-ordination and tracking of the Nuffield Partnership and projects, and for the provision of support to ensure RKE activities comply with internal and external policies designed to improve the quality of the research environment.

This includes research integrity and internal peer review.


You will contribute to the successful delivery of the Nuffield Partnership through close collaboration with the Partnership Board, Research Fellows and the Academic Leadership Team.

Working with the Faculty RKE Manager, you will assist in the development of processes which will complement the objectives of the RKE Strategy.

In conjunction with colleagues in the RKE Delivery team, you will provide post-award support for projects including assistance with purchasing and collation of timesheets & invoices where required.

You will also take a leading role in supporting the organisation of RKE project related events/meetings as required.


This is an exciting time to join the RKE Directorate at Manchester Metropolitan University; the post holder will have the opportunity to work with a network of colleagues within the RKE Directorate and in the wider Professional Services to deliver and develop a high quality service across the University.


About You:


You will be educated to degree level or have substantial equivalent experience with a proven track record of managing project finances.

You will be highly organised with an ability to prioritise service provision and to manage and delegate accordingly.


You should also have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good numerical and analytical skills.
  • The ability to work as part of a team and enjoy adapting and creating new ways of delivering key objectives.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise a variety of work activities in a busy environment and meet strict deadlines.


You must also have a commitment to excellent customer service and be willing to complete development and training in line with service requirements.
