Sterling Recruitment are working with a well established client based in the North Yorkshire area is sourcing additional HGV Shunter drivers to their team.

Option 1 consists of 40 hours per week made up of 8 hour shifts Monday - Friday with a weekly rotating shift pattern of 6-2/-2-10/10-6, and also you will need to work one Saturday morning every sixth week.

Overtime is available also

Option 2 Weekend working consists of 36 hours per week made up of 12 hour shifts, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, weekly rotation of 6am-6pm & 6pm-6am.

The role will include operating a shunt unit for internal stock movement efficiently and affectively.

Your duties for the role however not limited to are:

Inspection of the vehicle in accordance with correct procedures and certified practices.
Maintenance of correct fuel levels and refuelling of vehicles, logging and reporting of diesel usage, monitoring and recording of diesel tank fuel levels to ensure uninterrupted supply.
Safe and efficient handling of the vehicle in all respects,
Presenting the vehicle for loading when required, in a compliant and roadworthy condition.
Planning and communicating movement/transportation of stock to ensure zero Production downtime.
Ensuring that the load is secured and stable, using restraints provided
Ensuring the security of the vehicle and load at all times.
Moving trailers in a loaded and unloaded state between the manufacturing plant and the warehouse.
Assist with the loading and unloading of trailers with finished goods using a pallet truck.
Perform within set performance targets.
Assist with the operation of the distribution and shipping functions of the Department, when shunting is not required.
Accurately complete all paperwork.

To be considered for this role you must have:
A Valid Driving licence with C+E entitlement or Shunt Licence

A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role is advantageous
