Job Purpose:


This role involves managing procurement and contract activities of varying complexity to achieve best value in support of the departments wider objective of standardisation, aggregation and collaboration whilst protection the LFC from associated commercial risks.

The post holder will advise to internal clients, engage with suppliers on key contracts and provide support to the Heads of Category and their team.


General
- o provide advice to client departments and consultants working for the Brigade on the Brigade's commercial procedures, the interpretation of the Brigade's Scheme of Governance, guidelines and relevant procurement legislation.

  • To assist in the absence of the Head of Category in dealing with complex queries from Client departments and where necessary attend meetings on behalf of the Head of Category.
  • To ensure that, within the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Freedom of Information Act and Data Protection Act, confidentiality is maintained in all matters

Tenders and Contracts**- To undertake, manage and act as the procurement lead on medium to high complexity procurement and contract activities.

  • To ensure all procurement work within the remit of the postholder is compliant with the statutory provisions and the LFC's Scheme of Governance, procurement policies and procedures.

Purchasing

  • To assist junior members of staff with the management of the epurchase order management process, which includes dealing with individual order queries as well as liaison with new suppliers to the process and providing support and advice concerning any issues arising.
  • To liaise with suppliers and customers to assist in the management of key supplier accounts to ensure the efficient management of orders

Contract Management**- To manage and monitor assigned major contracts to ensure services are delivered consistently within the terms of the contract. Where there is non-compliance, ensure an appropriate remedial action is initiated

  • Ensure that decisions and actions arising from meetings are clearly summarised for those in attendance and appropriate records
