Our client is looking for aMechanical Estimator to operate hybrid on site and from their base in
Queenslie.
As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in assessing project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and contributing to the overall success of our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Assessment:
- Review project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to understand project requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information.
Cost Estimation:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems, focusing on heating and pipework installations.
- Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs to determine project expenses.
Bid Preparation:
- Develop comprehensive bid proposals, ensuring alignment with project requirements and industry standards.
- Collaborate with the business development team to enhance the company's competitiveness.
Vendor and Subcontractor Negotiation:
- Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Negotiate favorable terms and pricing to maximize project profitability.
Risk Analysis:
- Identify potential risks and uncertainties in project estimates.
- Work with project managers to develop risk mitigation strategies.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain organized and detailed documentation of estimating activities.
- Provide regular reports on estimated costs, potential risks, and bid statuses.
Market Research:
- Stay informed about industry trends, materials, and pricing to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.
- Build relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to stay current on market conditions.
Requirements:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator, preferably in the heating and gas.
- Indepth knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, and pipework installations.
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
Salary:
£32,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
