Our client is looking for a
Mechanical Estimator to operate hybrid on site and from their base in
Queenslie.


As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a crucial role in assessing project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and contributing to the overall success of our projects.

Your expertise in estimating mechanical systems, specifically in heating and gas, will ensure the company's competitiveness and profitability.


Key Responsibilities:


Project Assessment:

  • Review project specifications, drawings, and other relevant documents to understand project requirements.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information.

Cost Estimation:

  • Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for mechanical systems, focusing on heating and pipework installations.
  • Analyze labor, material, and equipment costs to determine project expenses.

Bid Preparation:

  • Develop comprehensive bid proposals, ensuring alignment with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with the business development team to enhance the company's competitiveness.

Vendor and Subcontractor Negotiation:

  • Obtain and evaluate quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Negotiate favorable terms and pricing to maximize project profitability.

Risk Analysis:

  • Identify potential risks and uncertainties in project estimates.
  • Work with project managers to develop risk mitigation strategies.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain organized and detailed documentation of estimating activities.
  • Provide regular reports on estimated costs, potential risks, and bid statuses.

Market Research:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, materials, and pricing to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.
  • Build relationships with suppliers and subcontractors to stay current on market conditions.

Requirements:


  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Estimator, preferably in the heating and gas.
  • Indepth knowledge of mechanical systems, HVAC, and pipework installations.
  • Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.

Salary:
£32,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
