BUSINESS RATES ASSISTANT

To help support the Business Rates Manager in effectively managing the firm's business rates payments and mitigation strategies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Log all incoming rates demands and check occupancy data to determine if the client is liable
- Swiftly deal with Recovery notices
- Communicating with Enforcement Agents when accounts have been passed to them
- Reconcile Business Rates payments to Control Report
- Analyse client tenancy data to inform Billing Authorities of new lettings, vacant units and sales.
- Liaise with Property Managers and Client Accountants to ensure demands are paid on time
- Reconcile credits to Control Report which includes Liaising with Billing Authorities to reconcile credits
- Other ad hoc duties as required
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills
- Excellent planning and organisation skills
- Business Rates knowledge is a preference but not essential
- A team player
- Enthusiastic and willing to undertake extra duties
- Previous experience in dealing with large volumes of invoices
- Ability to work to deadlines

£19,000.00-£21,000.00 per year

Education:
- GCSE or equivalent (preferred)
Experience:
- Administrative experience: 1 year (required)
