Job summary:


  • Summary:
  • The Issued Guarantees Officer is responsible for the end to end processing of Guarantees and SBLC's, including drafting, sending and recording in the systems and fees management.


  • Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the timely and accurate processing of guarantees and associated work.
  • To check client and bank requests for issuance of guarantees and SBLC's, to ensure legal acceptability, and compliance with the Bank's standards. To verify client instructions against credit authorisations and agreed client conditions
  • Registering transactions within bank tools, ensuring a high level of accuracy and efficiency in a timely manner
  • Preparation and issuance/reissuance/checking of guarantees and SBLC's including Tender Bonds, Financial / Performance / Advanced Payment Bond / Warranty Bond / Bid Bond / Evergreen / Tax /Trade Related Financial, Retention Monies Guarantees, Customs Guarantees etc., (including the booking of our share of syndicated loans and guarantees).
  • Followup work on guarantees and SBLC's including amendments, extensions, cancellations/releases, queries and claims.
  • Communication with other CACIB European sites, FO, Fin Sec/Compliance, Legal and other Banks
  • Claiming and handling receipt of all related fees and commissions.
  • Preparation of invoices to clients, ensuring a high level of accuracy in terms of calculation of fees and production and regular follow up of unpaid invoices
  • Prepare and check issue bank fees from local issuing banks
  • Maintaining excel spreadsheets and monitoring/agreeing suspense accounts at month end.
  • Providing guidance to junior officers, checking, signing and releasing Guarantees/SBLC's
  • Capture of Guarantees and SBLC's processing of follow up work and fees in TI+
  • Perform controls to ensure compliance with internal and regulatory regulations
  • Providing advice to clients and Front Office. Reviewing and helping to structure guarantee texts. Vetting/drafting guarantee texts for clients. Ensuring the compliance of client requests with authorisations held.
  • Ensure that all necessary controls and reporting are undertaken on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Management and reporting

  • Assisting the Issued Guarantees Team leader with daily processing activities taking into account productivity, operational risk and audit requirements

  • Legal and Regulatory Responsibilities
  • Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal Compliance requirements, including, but not limited to, the London Compliance manual and the Financial Crime Policy.
  • Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure to be fully qualified to undertake the role. Complete all mandatory training as required to attain and maintain competence.

Experience:


  • Essential:
  • Experience of all aspects of guarantees work within a similar organisation.
  • Minimum 3 year's experience of issuing Guarantees and SBLC's in an international Bank

Desirable:

  • Experience/knowledge of other Trade Finance operations, (Import/Export/StandbyL/C's, discounts, receivables, collections, etc.)

Required skills:

Desirable:

  • French language (written and spoken).
  • Other European languages (Italian, Spanish, German).

Technical skills required:


  • Required Specialist Training:
  • Specialist knowledge of the different products processed in the Issued Guarantees area.
  • Knowledge of Uniform Rules for Demand Guarantees (URDG) and International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) rules for Demand Guarantees.
  • Functional knowledge of all systems used in this area
