Job summary

We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic support worker to work within our successful and friendly MyTime Croydon service.


MyTime Croydon is Day Service Department for adults who have a learning disability and is based in Thornton Heath area.

The service is extremely popular and is open weekdays Monday to Friday from 8.30am until 4.30pm.


The main purpose of this post is to work with individuals in the planning and delivering of high quality activities based within the service.

Activities are based upon the choice of the person.


Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is the leading provider of health and social care services for people of all ages with mental ill-health and learning disabilities in Surrey and North East Hampshire.

We also provide social care services for people with a learning disability in Croydon and ASD and ADHD assessment services in Hampshire.


We actively seek to engage people who use our services and our communities in improving the mental wellbeing of the local population.

We work closely with other NHS and voluntary sector organisations who provide services and support people who use services and carers.

Surrey is a beautiful county lying just 30 minutes away from Central London and from the South Coast.


Our historic market towns and bustling districts are enveloped in wonderful countryside, and our excellent road and rail networks bring the rest of the country within easy reach.

For international travel, both Gatwick and Heathrow airports are nearby.

Working from home contracts do not attract high cost area payments.


To promote, support and deliver meaningful activities and promote engagement with activities at all times within the service and in the wider community.

To communicate effectively and appropriately with people who use The MyTime service.

To attend to care needs identified within the care plan ensuring respect, privacy and dignity at all times.

Help to maintain/develop relationships between individuals and their families/carers/others.


To maintain the safety of people at all times, alerting senior staff to any identified risks whether perceived or actual.

To work with individuals in a respectful and person centred way


Undertake training as necessary in line with the development of the post and as agreed with line manager as part of the personal development planning process.


To contribute to a healthy and safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations and Trust policies and to contribute to the prevention and control of health care associated infection by adhering to Trust policies and guidelines.
