For first 2 months (to help onboarding & adjusting to new role)

After first 2 months (n line with 4-day week policy)


Location
Bristol, with option of 1-2 days per week from home, by negotiation

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the City to Sea team and lead the growing marketing & campaigns team, overseeing the strategic direction and delivery of City to Seas award-winning portfolio of campaigns to prevent plastic pollution at source.


For this role we are looking for an experienced and highly organised campaigner who will be able to lead the team and ensure were able to deliver and grow our portfolio of creative, high impact campaigns.


Engaging and empowering diverse and active stakeholders, this role will range from leading our work with communities in the UK and internationally, to creating multi-channel public awareness campaigns, to delivering ambitious political advocacy campaigns, petitions and behaviour change initiatives.


  • A key part of the City to Sea team and a senior leader, you will help to drive our mission to prevent plastic pollution, delivering and growing our portfolio of high impact and awardwinning campaigns and projects.
  • Responsible for the strategic direction and delivery of City to Seas marketing & comms, campaigns, community engagement and political advocacy.
  • Leading & supporting the Marketing & Campaigns team to deliver on the various workstreams and projects.
  • Responsible for supporting the team with delivering the marketing strategy and growing the City to Sea brand, overseeing all external marketing content and communications, ensuring we retain our values, tone of voice and a highlevel of accuracy.
  • Working closely and collaboratively across the organisation, supporting with operations, development projects, fundraising and the delivery of our corporate partnerships.
  • Responsible for measuring, evaluating and reporting against our campaign and project targets as well as wider Annual Company Objectives.
  • A confident media spokesperson and external representative for the organisation, setting the agenda and raising our profile in regional, national and sector specific press and at relevant events and industry working groups.

Line Management & Senior Leadership Team

  • You will line manage: Policy & Media Manager / Community Coordinator and Marketing Lead (who manages the Digital Comms Manager and Marketing & Campaigns Assistant who are also in the Marketing and Campaigns team)
  • As an active and engaged member of the Senior Leadership Team, youll be representing the views, opinions and concerns of your wider team and feeding in, to key organisational decisions and priorities, bringing your own expertise, skills and knowledge into these discussions.

Strategic Development and Delivery
Youll be responsible for delivering and developing City to Seas ambitious campaign strategy, scoping for opportunities to develop new campaigns and growing our existing campaigns to drive impact and prevent plastic pollution. Budget management + forecasting

  • Youll be responsible for your team delivering against the agreed income and expenditure budgets for Marketing & Campaigns, managing forecasts and ensuring timely financial reporting across your team.
  • Youll also be responsible for managing your teams workload and capacity, supporting the Senior Leadership team to manage the organisational capacity planning and ensure were able to deliver high impact campaigns and projects on time, and on budget to inform overall scheduling and resource management decisions.
