The Opportunity:


The 'Inclusivity King's Buildings Initiative', known as 'iKB', is a new initiative being set-up within the College of Science and Engineering with the aim of fostering a culture of support and respect to minority or marginalised groups, and to promote 'safe spaces' and a sense of belonging on the King's Building campus and beyond.

The role-holder will work to establish iKB, encouraging inclusivity through the promotion of positive and inclusive symbolism.


This internship is part of the on Campus programme which is run by the Careers Service in collaboration with University departments and Schools.

It offers exclusive summer internships at the University over the summer for 2nd year to penultimate-year undergraduate students from the University of Edinburgh based in the UK.

You cannot take part if you are a visiting student, or you have already taken part in the programme before.


Expected commencement date:
June 3rd week internship).

This post is full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns.

A hybrid working policy is in operation whereby at least two days of the working week must be in the office, though the post-holder is welcome to work full-time from the office if preferable.

  • A keen interest in and awareness of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion issues
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to facilitate dialogue
  • Motivated, with a courteous manner
  • Aptitude to build and maintain effective relationships
