My name is Danny and I am a chess coach based in London. I specialize in teaching students under 1500 about how to go from blundering ones own pieces to plundering the opponents' through a combination of fundamental, tactical and positional ideas that can be applied universally throughout the students development and growth as a player. I have taken a myriad of students and increased their playing strength significantly. Testimonials are readily available upon request. Before taking on any student I like to have an open-ended conversation with them to ensure that they are getting the most of what I have to offer and that a good rapport is there.

Experience

I've played chess for years and I am constantly seeking to train and get better. I've managed the Brunel University Chess Association since 2017 and led them to victory in the Hillingdon and District Chess League. I've played for Middlesex CCA with a 100% scoring record under the leadership of Dilukshan Manoharan, a great captain and an all round good guy. In 2020 I founded the BoroughBurners Chess Club with a few of my close friends and we are always seeking new players that are looking to engage with the chess community. I have since handed leadership of the team to Jack Mills, a very bright and hard working young man. I now run GreySquareChess, an up and coming chess training site dedicated to beginner and intermediate players. I have taught chess 1-1 and in classroom settings mostly for Brunel University students but also as a volunteer at Uxbridge Chess Club helping players better understand their mistakes, assisting CM David Okike and Expert Peter Walters on numerous occasions. My specialty is students that are rated 1500 or lower and I am willing to work with both adults and children to give them a deeper insight into fundamental concepts that can improve their overall understanding of the game.
