Dear Sir

I am an enthusiastic, and hardworking child psychiatrist who believes in providing quality evidence based assessment, and treatment to young persons and families, experiencing mental health difficulties. 

 

I have acquired numerous skills and an array of experience over my period of training on the South London and Maudsley Child and Adolescent Psychiatry training scheme. I enjoy the challenges of child psychiatry alongside implementing these skills as a consultant, whilst continuously building on this platform, and, enhancing services for young people and families.

 

As a consultant, I am able to lead, collaborate, and direct an MDT of varying skills and experience. I deliver nuanced neurodevelopmental reports, some of which have detailed high complex presentations. For example, I have overseen care where BPD and ADHD interact, as well as eating disorders present alongside autism spectrum condition. I have delivered evidence based and contemporary treatment based on accessing areas such as the Maudsley PEACE pathway. 

 

I am familiar with DBT, CBT and transference focussed approaches, combined with nuanced medical treatment. The latter includes dual treatment for ADHD, nuanced psychosis care, appropriate augmentation of antidepressants. 

 

I quickly established structures during my role in a general adolescent unit, which are still embedded within the running of the ward. These structures provide clear ways of communicating with parents, wider family members, and community professionals regarding the care of a young person. 

 

As a result of the work I was able to undertake in a general adolescent unit, I have been able to progress to a medical director role. This is within a different hospital, as conveyed in my resumé, and I currently work as a consultant child psychiatrist on an adolescent psychiatric intensive care unit, balanced with the medical director role. 

 

I can deliver the same nuanced care in the Middle East. I would relish the challenges, and feel this would a brilliant opportunity for life long learning. One of the greatest privileges with training in London, was, the wonderful diversity where I thrived, and know that the Middle East will afford the same exhilarating experience.
