Akkileshkumar Muraleetharan

As a part-time freelance tutor for the last three years, I taught O/L and A/L Cambridge and London Edexcel students in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics. I focused primarily on one-on-one tutoring, identifying individual students' areas of weakness to create tailored revision plans to strengthen their research, analytical and problem-solving skills. I coordinated multiple schedules in order to provide personal one-on-one services to 15+ students. 

My most recent position was as a Research Assistant with Janani Biotech Lanka for a period of 18 months from 03rd January 2022 to 03rd July 2023. As a Research Assistant, my duties included preparing plant tissue culture media and stock solutions, production plants and mother stock maintenance, initiating and maintaining plant cell culture, plant disease and growth screening, and documenting and maintaining records.

Before that, I was employed in the role of Project Coordinator with Wavealai Management Consultants (PVT) LTD from the period of 2nd June 2021 to 28th December 2022. As a project coordinator, my responsibilities included fostering effective working connections with colleagues and clients, organizing Zoom meetings, photographing and documenting progress reports, monitoring project activities, and providing advice on concerns presented due to contractors’ availabilities.

 

I am currently pursuing an M.Sc in Medical Engineering with a specialization in Nanotechnology at the University of Plymouth (2023-2024), with the intention of continuing on to a Ph.D. degree. 

I previously completed my MSc in Biotechnology from SRM University (2019) in Chennai, India and a B.Sc in Biotechnology from Himalayan University (2016), India.
