I am a technical leader that’s passionate about making development teams successful in order to foster a culture of technical excellence and autonomy. My drive comes from getting the best out of talented individuals in order to develop products that challenge the status quo and make a positive impact in the world.

I've accumulated significant architectural experience over the course of my career. During my tenure at FTSE 100 Hargreaves Lansdown, I led the technical design and governed the implementation of transformational programmes of work that impacted an IT department of over 400 people, split across two timezones.

I have substantial experience in embedding the usage of modern tools, techniques and processes to enable agile development practices and CI/CD at-scale across teams of product managers, developers, DevOps engineers and QA engineers.

Running recruitment and selection activities to fill skill gaps in development teams is something that feels very natural to me and I take great satisfaction in seeing the difference the right candidates can make to an overall team’s delivery capability.

During the course of my career I have invested in the development of my communication, persuasion and influencing skills to make me a proficient leader and enable me to manage stakeholders effectively. I enjoy the challenge of pitching ideas to senior leaders and presenting at company-wide events.

Being a technologist, I am naturally interested in keeping up to date with trends in technology. I frequently look for opportunities in my spare time to experiment with new programming languages, tools, services and techniques to broaden my knowledge. In my day-to-day work, I use the breadth of my knowledge to thrive in technically-diverse businesses. Being technically agnostic and seeing things from a point of trade-offs has enabled me to make long-lasting decisions and see solutions to problems from new perspectives.
