About Aliyah Hluschyk:
Hello :) my name is Aliyah, I’m 17 years old and I honestly don’t know what I want to pursue a career in. I love children, Im an older sibling to 6, the youngest is 2 years old and the other 5 range in ages from 9 up to 15, so I guess you can say I have had experience with children for a long time. I’m a really happy and resilient person and if I know what I want I will make sure I go for it. I tried college, however it just wasn’t for me I like to be hands on and I like to learn as I go, that’s why I think an apprenticeship would be perfect for me. I’m always smiling and laughing and my mother raised me with manners! as I said at the beginning I really don’t know what I want to pursue but I’m hoping something with children. I’m not really good at about me’s as I haven’t got a lot to say about myself unfortunately, but if you employ me I’m sure you would find out a lot about me and my character!!
i have worked (student placement) in a pre school with children ages 2-4 years of age for 7 months and I have worked in a warehouse for 10+ months.
i am passionate about a lot of things however I’d like to say I have a passion for helping people. If a smile is all it takes to make someones day better then a smile I will give!!
If you are reading this have a great day!! :)
Experience
Burnside pre school, burnside crescent, Middleton, Manchester, M24 5NN
Every Wednesday, 8:45-15:00
October 2021- May 2022
This was placement work, meaning I didn’t get payed for it, almost like volunteering.
The job role Included keeping children from ages 2-4 safe, teaching them new learning skills like how to read and write, we taught this through outdoor/indoor play, drawing, creating things, using our imagination, reading books ext. Our job was to get them ready for primary school, we let the children decide what they wanted to do themselves, encouraging them to be independent, but helping them whenever they needed it. It is a lovely experience to have!!
There was a couple of children there that had SEN, like autism. I have little experience, however a little goes a long way.
E Bedding Limited, Hanson Close, Middleton, Manchester, M24 2HD
Job title: warehouse operative
Every weekend, 8:00-16:00
I pick up a trolley full of items and scan the tote barcode I then work my way through around 50-60 items packing them sticking the label on it and putting it on the belt I repeat this all day you have to be quick depending on the day if a lot of orders have been placed then we have to pick up our speed to get them all done you have to pay attention to detail as labels are different and if you pack and the label comes out different you have to repack the item, it is also surprisingly easy to forget to put the label on you must make sure this doesn’t happen! You must have a lot of patience as it may be frustrating when certain things don’t fit in bags but there is always a way for it to fit and get on the belt, so patience is key. You must be able to stand on your feet constantly for 8 hours a day it can test you physically
We have a certain amount of items we have to pack in an hour and if we don’t complete the amount needed we are put into the red zone. This can put a bit of pressure on you.
This job has taught me patience, speed, and how to work as a team.
We have a big responsibility, this means no distractions! I met some pretty great people there. It made me a lot more confident.
Another thing we must do is maintain a clean and tidy work area and responding to needs of the business by carrying out additional duties.
We are responsible for customers’ orders so remember the customer always comes first!
