Amila Porić

Hello, my name is Amila.

I have worked at a sunglasses kiosk for two summers in a row now and have developed a passion for my work as a sales assistant. I have honed my skills and am actively seeking placement elsewhere! 

I am a student who is commuting to university from home so this means I am available locally and have a relatively flexible schedule.

My special skills include teamwork, time management, organisation, customer service (probably my best trait), and working in a fast-paced environment.

My personal hobbies include fashion, and I like to read and write. It's just visually satisfying to pair accessories and clothes to people's individual looks and it's one of my favourite aspects of work. On top of this, my writing has always kept me creative and open to trying new things. I like learning new things and facts, I like knowing the inner workings of things that peak my curiousity down to the last detail. Essentially, I like anything to keep my brain stimulated.

I am proficient in customer communication and sales. I love to take my time on individuals and make them feel heard while also working fast to serve as many as possible in a fast-paced environment.

I take pride in organising and maintaining a clean and tidy display that draws customers in, and aids myself and my colleagues in navigating the space in an efficient manner.

Fast learning and an eye for style is a key part of my work. I need to be able to learn information about products fast, and give advice on people of all ages and genders what suits them best. Somewhere that would keep my brain active and my eye for stylish accessories alive is my ideal place of work!

I would love to find more work in sales, and prioritise work in an environment with strong team values while also helping us grow as individuals.

I am currently a university student studying mathematics. This course has really helped sharpen my problem solving skills and harness my creativity in the same hand. I enjoy what I do because it's all about balancing the practical with the abstract, using what you can't see as the logical explanation for the things you can see.

My university has many talks and Ideathons available that I have attended. In particular I am passionate about sustainable business practices and how companies can do their bit to reduce waste. The rise in global warming is a change all companies will eventually have to adapt to and I would like to be involved in helping companies transition smoothly to adopt these practices.
